Rohit Sharma could not hold back his tears after India's loss to Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final on Sunday.

India's sensational run at the 2023 ODI World Cup ended in crushing fashion after the Men in Blue lost the final to Australia by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The defeat proved so disappointing that some of the players, including captain Rohit Sharma were seen in tears after the loss. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who did not take the new ball on the day of the final, was seen crying immediately after the match ended and was consoled by fellow teammate Jasprit Bumrah.

Put in to bat by Australian skipper Pat Cummins, India could manage to score only 240 runs in their 50 overs and despite a strong start with the ball, could not take more than four Australian wickets which eventually led to their downfall in the biggest match of the tournament.
The Australian pairing of Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne put on 192 runs for the fourth wicket to take the match away from the hands of the Men in Blue and help Australia win their sixth ODI World Cup crown.

The loss on Sunday extended India's barren run of not winning an ICC tournament to eight straight events, ever since they last won the Champions Trophy in 2013.
