India's sensational run at the 2023 ODI World Cup ended in crushing fashion after the Men in Blue lost the final to Australia by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
The defeat proved so disappointing that some of the players, including captain Rohit Sharma were seen in tears after the loss. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who did not take the new ball on the day of the final, was seen crying immediately after the match ended and was consoled by fellow teammate Jasprit Bumrah.
Winning or losing is a part of the game. Well done team India

I feel sad for Siraj and Shami. They are facing the entire responsibility for this loss. Indians are bashing them for poor bowling in the final of the World Cup. pic.twitter.com/I6TShuLafW— Wajahat Kazmi (@KazmiWajahat) November 19, 2023
The loss on Sunday extended India's barren run of not winning an ICC tournament to eight straight events, ever since they last won the Champions Trophy in 2013.
